It's the end of the world but in a cataclysm that i have not thought of. Long story short, a meteor hit the moon and moved it too close to earth, causing havoc, destruction on a global scale in the form of tsunamis earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The book is written in a a diary/ narrator format. Following the story of a young teenage girl named Miranda and her family through this crisis. The story shows how surviving event like this is nothing short of impossible, all the hardships and terrible moments faced by Miranda and her family, it coined in on the title of the book, their life was never the same again and the old life as they knew it was gone forever. The story was slow to pick up on the more exciting parts but I suppose it takes time to build up a good story. In short, the book was a good read and had me turning pages faster and faster with each word read and chapter finished. This book showed how the end of the world could change the strongest of us, the weakest, the most religious and how society can turn in on its self.
On a side note, here is another video adaptation of the world ending, courtesy of Fallout 3. A 1950's/Jestons theme with the funny part ending at the 1:30 mark and the grim reality beginning at the 1:31 mark.....Enjoy
